Likely it just doesn't hit her clit terribly well. It's a psychologically good position for us, but less so physically.
I have had a lot of trouble with rear entry. I have tried it a few times, including out in the country a couple of times. My wife and I once had a row out in the bush (Australians), and we had make-up sex beside a quiet road. I tried rear entry, but ended up simply putting her on her back.
I cannot make it work when my wife is upright but bent over. I have never really tried the position depicted. The only time I have made rear entry work is when I have put my wife over the edge of the bed. I get her to put her hands on the floor. I hold her hips and pound against her in that position. Holding her hips gives me something to bang against, and takes some of the weight off her hands.
I don't think my wife finds it a comfortable position. Whether she is turned on by the fact that her bottom is a lot higher than her head, I don't know. Some women might find the position too degrading.
I have successfully completed rear entry in this rather extreme position, but it is hard work.

A woman's vaginal position can vary a bit from female to female. I doubt that it is just a question of relative height.
