If you're in therapy for something, there's a very good chance it won't do anything to *fix* the issue, but it can help you unbottle the emotions around it. If you actually want to fix the problem, you have to unwind the memories that are attached to it.
If you want to *fix* a problem you have, well, only you can do that, but most of the time it takes a level of honesty with yourself you're not willing to accept. Which is always the paradox for getting help.
